Double your Google listings, double your website traffic (and a video)

When you plan to rank at the top of the search engines for a number of keyword phrases, you may want to include as part of that goal and vision to occupy multiple search engine listings.

“You mean there’s a way to occupy more than one top search engine listing for the same website, Jim?”

Yeah — there really is.

In fact, there was a video released a number of months ago that may have breezed passed you or went under your radar, but I thought I would reinforce it right here, right now. (And yes, you’ll get the video replay here.)

There certainly is a way to get one web page to rank at the top of Google and bring with it a secondary page that will show up as an indented listing.

Take this one for instance at the top of Google for the term “keyword service”

NicheBOT Keyword Service number 1 and 2 position

And then this one for a similar keyword “keyword services”

NicheBOT Keyword Services number 1 and 2 position

Obviously, it goes without saying that when you carry a top 10 search engine listing in the organic results as shown above, it carries with it some authority to curious web surfers that are your targeted visitor.

Thanks Jim … excellent tactic easy to implement and rewarding social marketing/networking rocks … well the search engines think so and after all that’s what counts

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia … Social marketing is the systematic application of marketing along with other concepts and techniques to achieve specific behavioural goals for a social good.

Although ‘social marketing’ is sometimes seen only as using standard commercial marketing practices to achieve non-commercial goals, this is an over-simplification.

The primary aim of ‘social marketing’ is ‘social good’, while in ‘commercial marketing’ the aim is primarily ‘financial’. This does not mean that commercial marketers can not contribute to achievement of social good.

Increasingly, social marketing is being described as having ‘two parents’ – a ‘social parent’ = social sciences and social policy, and a ‘marketing parent’ = commercial and public sector marketing approaches.

Beginning in the 1970s, it has in the last decade matured into a much more integrative and inclusive discipline that draws on the full range of social sciences and social policy approaches as well as marketing.

All my best to you and yours

I have used this technique in some of the blogs that we setup to complement the main site and we found that it does work. The blog got 2 listings and the main site one.

Would you call that going one up on the trick ;)

Jim, as always you give great solid information that is useful for the beginning internet business entrepreneur. I found the information in this video very helpful. It would take hours and hours of time just to find the sites that are listed to get started in the social marketing network, not to mention having to figure out the schematics of how they work and why they are effective. Thanks again for the valuable information.

    Hi,
What a great video you have produced,it has given me new hope. You may ask why and my answer is because i have been studying internet marketing for the past few years, I have subscribed to every email and many purchases to get into the swim. I have had a website for 2 years with over 80 pages of good content but I am not getting many clicks and no opt-ins. My problem is that I am not adept enough with the computer and I can’t over hype my own stuff. This concept of marketing through Social Networking Seems to make it possible to connect with a huge audience on a more straightforward way. I would ask that you make the way forward available at the level of the lowest common denominator in terms computer speak even into sign up and use the links you have so kindly provided. You have done a great job so far, please keep it simple and keep it coming.
    Wishing you every success.
    Don Westacott.

This was a great post as always very informative and helpful. It has been our goal lately to get several of our pages ranking as well as the main page. Social marketing has been our only tool for quite a while and has gotten us pr4 in 30 days on a new site and some of our members pr for their internal pages as well. So it does work.
Thanks for sharing this fantastic information.

Hi Jim n All …. Some thing new is coming to the Search Engine World of Searching “takes a large collection of photos of a place or an object, analyzes them for similarities, and then displays the photos in a reconstructed three-dimensional space, showing you how each one relates to the next. In our collections, you can access gigabytes of photos in seconds, view a scene from nearly any angle, find similar photos with a single click, and zoom in to make the smallest detail as big as your monitor.”

Yes Jim thanks. I have double listing for some of my keywords, but I’ve not really considered it a big advantage until I read this post. Again, in my own case, the double listing may have brought in some traffic, but certainly not responsible for most sales.

Maybe something else may account for this that I must take a look at.

Anyway, your post has revealed to me how I actually achieved those double listings in the first place. What more? I’ll simply go ahead and start implementing the techniques.

    Cheers. :)

Hi Folks, just wanted to tell you how much I apprectiate Jim and all he is sharing. I have since gone from an obscure page to number one and in some cases got two listing just as Jim said so.

Its differently true and woth the trouble. Yesterday I ranked #2 out of over a million sites. That is become quite common now and its all because of Jim. Thank you Jim.

I have dramatically cut my adwords down and get around 20 or so hits free organically to one of my sites.

And guess what that same page has got a page rank 1 now.

If you really want it listen to this man he is worth every penny in fact much much more. God Bless him. Regards Claude

I’ve gotten several of these on one of my sites and the click through rates on those terms are pretty good, based on the search volume that Niche Bot is projecting for those terms. Definitely something worth putting in the effort to get.

    Dear Jim

Ever since I saw your post a few months ago on this subject of double your listings I have been implementing it and find that I have on a number of search terms have two listings and now I also find my primary webpage also lands on the first page. Thats a whopping 3 site out of 10.

    All thanks to you.

I also realised that by adding a page in my 404 error page with a quick refererence to what i do I find I don’t lose so many people if the error page comes up now.

A thing I did not realsie about the double listing but something that was happening by accident was how to do it purposely.

Today reading your postI realised that by crossing linking same keywords is the reason I was getting double indents. Thanks for the tip because I have found the answer to one of my questions.

God Bless Claude from Usana Health

This is definitely a case where just a little effort pays off big time. The double listings are a real eye catcher in the SERPs, and the incremental work to make it happen is trivial.

as always you give great solid information that is useful for the beginning internet business entrepreneur. I found the information in this video very helpful. I knew about Google base before, but didn’t really know you could use it this way. You’re the first marketer I know of that has shown this method (maybe everyone else has been keeping it a secret). I agree with Kristi that this is really a ‘gem’. Keep it coming, Jason! Nice way to kick off your blog.
