NicheBOT abused by automated scripts…
We heard back from Keyword Discovery's CEO today and got the front page keyword tool back up and working today.
It was sad news to hear that the reason the tool was not working was due to thousands of requests per hour being pounded on NicheBOT's servers by automated keyword scripts and, thus, thousands of requests being hammered into Keyword Discovery's own servers and database.
So as a fail safe, and to keep server load down on their part, Keyword Discovery shut down NicheBOT's access to the trial results that have been displayed here at NicheBOT on a solid basis.
Not only does this apparent abuse effect the tool from working in the future, but it affects the regular users that do not abuse the tool for whom we've kept it open to the public for their use. We may now have to put in safeguards in place and require a login that will point out who the abusers are.
And because of these insane number of search requests hammering NicheBOT's and Keyword Discovery's servers, this is exactly why the competition results have not been displayed either.
This now means that NicheBOT.com will have to take appropriate steps by initiating anti-abuse measures, one of which will be banning certain IPs.
And — this is one of the BIG reasons that I called for an emergency NicheBOT 2 signup yesterday for the next 48 hours. That sign up process will end tomorrow.
So, in the future, if the tool is down, please understand that it is beyond our control that abusers reak havoc, but that we may need to put in place measures that make it more difficult for this to continue to occur.
Thank you for being a loyal NicheBOT subscriber.
You may move about the internet and continue to gather keywords. ;o)

No surprise there. You need a captcha.

i noticed it was getting hammered. I figured either you were / dotted or a spammer took you down.
Might I suggest adding an ip banning algorithm + a captcha.
