Search engines aren't the only ones that send you traffic
Hey there,
Got a couple of quick updates on NicheBOT Classic (the original NicheBOT that started it all — it's FREE — and always will be).
The Google Ranking tool is now back in full swing and we've included a Google API key to be inserted for its use. The Google API key requires that you have a Google account and will allow you to do up to 1,000 daily queries that use Google.com. This should forever abolish any problems with that tool not working and being overused by the public.
For those that are still looking for their original keyword account, NicheBOT Classic has been moved to the URL in the blue link or nichebotclassic.com.
We are now under the 30 day wire for the public release of NicheBOT 2 and the buzz is building.
Some people have commented how much they love the pay-per-use model we've used versus the timed subscription.
Not to mention, we just included Folder Management of your keyword projects so you can organize your keyword projects as you wish. This way, your main project folder, or the main view of the keyword basket is not all cluttered with a bunch of different keyword projects you've saved. If you haven't seen it, this really takes keyword project management to the next level.
Now, for the main purpose and thrust of this post.
I'm personally very much into acquiring FREE traffic. Either from search engines or from partners. I'll explain what I mean by partners in a minute.
I'm not personally one to go out on a limb and test out Pay-Per-Click campaigns with Google Adwords or Overture, or even MSN's new pay-per-click, though many marketers swear by it. Quite frankly, it's a gamble if you don't know what you're doing, especially if you don't track your conversions. So other than FREE search engine traffic, there's this paid model of traffic which I leave to those who have mastered it.
Most NicheBOT users I would gather focus on keywords as way to get seeded in the search engine results pages (SERPs). But there's definitely other ways of getting traffic to your site(s), your offer(s), your product(s) or your service(s).
And there's definitely another source of traffic that goes totally ignored by some.
And get this — this source of traffic is free and doesn't cost one penny.
What am I talking about? Well…
I just recently returned from JV Alert Live which occurred nearby our offices in sunny San Diego. Interestingly enough, the weather was dreary and even rained part of this last weekend, but that didn't keep our spirits down.
The whole conference was about "joint ventures" and bringing together a bunch of people that are interested in increasing their customer base and reach, which is made possible by the joint thing I already mentioned.
Now, the term "joint venture" in the traditional sense has to do with two people that get together in a joint effort, form an entity on a project and collaberate and share profits in a venture, along with the costs and expenses. That's one way to use the term.
The other way that internet marketers use this term loosely is by approaching one another to have the other do an "endorsed mailing" to the other's mailing list about a product or service.
So in other words… if I have a product and also have an affiliate program as a way of paying out a share of the profits to people, I also have the opportunity to approach what are known as Super Affiliates to promote my product. Getting one big super affiliate, aka joint venture partner, can easily add a serious bottom line to your profits. Even after just one mailing.
How do I know?
I've personally used this source of traffic and hold it responsible for over $500,000 in revenues since July 2005. Not bad if you ask me. (No, this does not concern NicheBOT.)
Usually, there's an affiliate program that is used to track all the sales that are derived from the joint venture partner doing the mailing.
This is ultimately and truly one of the best ways to get instant traffic to your site.
If you are looking to approach this manner of acquiring more traffic to your site, and thus, more sales, you've got to look outside to other complimentary products and approach these Super Affiliates by giving them a call on the phone and getting their attention.
Of course, it helps to have a product or service that tightly relates to the same market of those people you want to approach.
So where can you begin to look for partners that can help you out with a joint venture?
Quite simple. Look for them under the same kind of keywords that you target on your website.
Look for them in affiliate directories under the same topics as your industry. A good place to start would be Allan Gardyne's Associate Programs.
One of the best ways to develop relationships with these super affiliates is to join their newsletter and read their ezines and get to know them. When they write something interesting, write back with your comment. You can spot the really great super affiliates because they have a wonderful writing style and they let you get to know them. And when you reply back that shows you are paying attention, it's easier to get their attention at the appropriate time.
Some are still reachable by email, some are more reachable by phone. So you'll need to summon up a little extra energy, get a quick 30 second compressed presentation of why they should help you out and then call em up on the phone. Some Super Affiliates won't even do Joint Ventures with you unless they meet you in person face to face. Which is why it's a great idea to get out to the conferences like I went to, such as JV Alert Live.
"But Jim, what if I have no product, no server, no list, nothing to start out and get the attention of these Super Affiliates that bring in hoards of sales?"
Well, I'm glad you asked.
This is a really big problem people have that are starting out on the net.
And I just happened to meet somebody who used to be a nobody in the internet marketing arena, but now he's made quite a name for himself.
His name is Harris Fellman and he's the creator of 12 Week Intensive.

Now, understand. Harris had NO mailing list, NO product, NO service, NO affiliate program to start off with.
However, he was able to book some of THE most elite business consultants, copywriters and some of the foremost marketing experts on the planet.
And what did he do then?
He interviewed these top marketers, consultants and copywriters over the course of 12 weeks and pulled everything he possibly could out of them over the course of a live teleseminar. During the course of this twelve weeks, Harris pulled in over $184,127 in commissions as a result of what he did.
Harris joked with me at the conference because he said that he pulled in Jay Abraham who charges clients $25,000 and Gary Halbert who doesn't charge less than $10,000 to do a salesletter (plus royalties) and yet, he was unable to get me to commit to him for a teleseminar. (hehe)
Anyways — I think Harris is a prime example that if anyone can come out of nowhere into the forefront of an industry and take notice of you, then anyone with goals can do the same.
Most people wonder what they want to do on the Internet and waiver and wander.
Even if you are NOT an expert on anything, and even if you have just a passion to learn about something. Pick yourself a topic and go out, identify experts in the field, and use Harris's methods to create a name for yourself.
After the whole 12 Week Intensive teleseminar series, Harris went about and created an entire product about how he earn that insane amount of net revenues in commissions — yes $184,127 in an easy to follow product. He named that product Codename Catalyst and made that available to the public.
I highly recommend Codename Catalyst to anyone that is having trouble with finding a way to entrench themselves in an industry and wants to know how to pull of interviewing some of the foremost experts in the industry of your choice. I believe what is taught in Codename Catalyst can be transferred to any topic or area of choice.
What Harris was able to do after completing the 12 Week Intensive was get those people he interviewed to joint venture with him and then promote his product. Brilliant, I tell you. Brilliant!
Now you are well aware of the power of joint ventures and the resounding impact they can have on your business.
You heard it from someone who has leveraged it himself and will continue to do so well into the future.
It's all about building relationships and manifesting the relationships you create over time to gain another source of website traffic.
Don't get me wrong — search engine traffic is absolutely awesome. But there's also no need to ignore the other potentials of joint venture traffic as well.
The take away here that I challenge you with is to go out and identify experts in your industry and put together recorded interviews or live teleseminars to add or enhance the value of what you are getting. Put together a new product — an audio product — that has a higher perceived value than a written book and you could then have something serious to approach leading super affiliates in your industry and begin raking in more profits than you ever imagined.
You can make it happen. You just have to plan for your success and it will happen. That's what I did for myself.
And you can take that to the bank.
Best,
Jim Morris, President/CEO

Hey Jim,
You all do a great job here at nichebot, BUT I would really like to ask you to be more consequent in your texts because you have the tendancy to say 15 word to express what others would say in 2; Sometimes I don't have time nor patience to read everything you write and I think that's such a pitty because I don't want to miss any information coming from you
NicheBOT Guy @ 1:47 pm:
Eve,
I understand what you are saying, but I have to take into consideration the entire learning spectrum, from beginner to intermediate to advanced.
So while I know that I am long-winded, we're only talking about an extra 2-3 minutes of reading for me to get across some wisdom that may help YOU out or a beginner.
That's 2-3 minutes that may incredibly enhance your online behavior, activity and profit potential. If 2-3 minutes is not worth your patience, then I would say you are cutting yourself short.
Plain and simple.
I have learned from Masters who create courses in the hundreds of pages and what I've learned from these people cannot be isolated into a couple of words.
I appreciate your thoughts in this matter anyhow.
Best,
Jim Morris

Thanks for the invite Jim. This is the first blog I've ever read. I've got to say that it is very enlightening. The concept of 'joint venture' that you speak of can be very powerful in competent hands. I certainly look forward to its use in the future; once I get my website up and running.
Regards,
John 'Gus' Magilke
