A different keyword tool for different folks
I’m sure you’ve heard that saying… “Different strokes for different folks.” And the same goes for people that are looking for “the” perfect keyword tool.
Back in June 2005, Jay Stockwell from Keyword Workshop put together a very informative report for those seeking the right keyword tool and gave some objective information in his report. This one quote stood out in the 153 page report…
“Not everone has the same motivations when they’re doing Keyword Research. So it makes sense that some tools are going to have better outcomes for different tasks depending on what kind of user the software maker had in mind when the tool was designed.”
Nothing could be more true.
Most people are looking for that ONE keyword tool that will end all tools. And I can forthrightedly tell you that it does not exist.
Many people come to me asking what keyword tool they should purchase and whether one is worth it more than the other.
Just because a keyword tool has more bells and whistles does not mean it’s the best tool for your needs.
When someone asks me about which tool to get, I first ask what exactly they are going to use it for.
As Jay Stockwell explains in his 153 page report that reviews every major keyword tool on the market, there are various characteristics of people that do keywords, such as…
1. Search Engine Optimizers;
2. Niche Miners;
3. Pay-Per-Click advertisers;
4. Adsense Publishers.
Each one of the characteristics above have different needs which requires a different keyword tool.
Sure, if you were able to put together WordTracker, Keyword Discovery, Google Adwords Keyword Tool, Keywords Analyzer, Keyword Elite, you would have an extremely dynamic tool. But if someone is placed into one of the four categories above, they would probably use 20% of the combined keyword tool and possibly never use the rest of the functionality.
Thus, you really have to pear down what exactly is your intent. Are you just fishing for the ultimate keyword tool? If so, that may not be the best approach.
There are definitely a number of combined features in the new NicheBOT keyword tool — but again, if you are an Adsense Publisher, you may require other intelligence that shows Google Adwords data that may be more extensively available elsewhere.
So what category do you place yourself in above?
Pick one and find the tool that best represents your needs for that particular keyword research aspect of your business.
