Secret Source Reveals High Quality Content Most People Never Consider
Today I’m going to reveal a secret content source most people fail to ever consider.
To some, it may be logical and obvious.
To others, it may seem like a breath of fresh air and truly tickle your fancy.
Ask most webmasters and online business owners that are looking for new content to add to their site, and they’ll most likely tell you that they purchased, or have considered purchasing, Private Label Rights content (aka “PLR”). This avoids the costly expense of having to hire ghostwriters to write content or articles for you.
The attraction to PLR content is that you purchase the content for pennies on the dollar, take the content and make it your own by placing your name on it. Hence, the words “Private Label.” The problem is that others are receiving the same content and if you post the content on a website without changing it, the search engines could site you for duplicate content and ban your website or just isolate de-indexing to just the web pages marked as duplicate content.
Golden Rule #1: With any type of PLR content you acquire for placement on your website, it is imperative to edit, update, refresh, revise and completely alter the content from its original state. Now, there are some exceptions when it comes to this, especially when we are talking about placing the content on web pages that the Search Engine spiders never see. This would be considered placing your content on an orphan web page that will never be found in a Search Engine’s index.
PLR content comes in various forms, such as articles, ebooks, software and just about anything that can be created in the digital world. If it can be created and packaged, it can be called and sold as PLR.
There are some vendors that sell digital wares with “resell rights” and that is NOT the same as PLR. In 99% of the cases, resell rights do not allow you to change, alter or even place your name on the ready made products or articles you may consider acquiring. So keep your antennas up.
I, myself, have purchased resell rights only to be somewhat turned off by the active hyperlinks that point a purchaser directly back to the originator of the product. In most instances, someone who acquires and sells “resell rights” type products gets to keep 100% of the money that is exchanged in a transaction (royalty-free). However, with active hyperlinks pointed back to the originator of the product, you are not only building your own customer list, but brand awareness for the originator of the product as well.
All of these avenues are a great way to get into business and instantly have a product on your own. And I would highly recommend someone who does approach this business path to consider completely REVAMPING the articles or the product (with new graphics and all) so it bares no resemblance to its original state.
There is also another type of manner to acquire content called Master Resell Rights, and this gives the purchaser (licensee) the additional right to grant resell rights to purchasers. It’s literally a license to sub-license a product, software, etc. This is, in addition, to being able to offer the product for retail sale as well.
I know – I hear you saying…
“So is that the secret, Jim?”
Well, no, I haven’t shared it just yet.
Hang on, because I’m about to spill the beans.
While all the ways mentioned above are immediate options, I have an even better source for acquiring top notch quality content to your website that beats outs, trumps and aces any of the methods above. See…
Just the other day, I was at Home Depot and my wife and I were at the checkout line.
I had been wanting to create a new niche site that would allow me to build a mailing list while also giving me material to set up on an autoresponder so I could develop a relationship with my readers.
Low and behold, when my mind was wandering in outter space, I snapped out of my daze in the checkout line and saw this cover of a magazine.
It was a “how-to” magazine called “The Family Handyman.”

And then it hit me like a ton of bricks falling from high above Home Depot’s ceiling.
“143 Ways to slash your utility bills.”
Talk about creating a power packed autoresponder series with something that truly helps people out and something a lot of households across the world are conscious about. Energy savings!
I always tell my students that you want to create a website around something that solves a problem or helps improve people’s lives. Something that people are truly searching for to help them.
Humans have a natural tendency to want to save money, so this was perfect!
Now here’s where it gets good. Real good. Hang with me here.
This “how-to” magazine was published in Home Depot warehouses across the United States, so it has to be high quality for a chain that big to carry it for sale.
High quality means that the articles and information within the magazine and the problem solving ideas have to be sound and bring across true value and were written by professional writers. They were certainly not produced by content writers found online that write $10 articles.
Now here’s where it really gets exciting.
I can literally guarantee you that this “how-to” published content is 99% offline and can’t be found online. Right about now, alarm bells should be going off inside your head. (It’s really difficult to get cited for duplicate content when the base material you are using is located offline.)
Whereas most people are truly concerned about taking PLR content and revising it enough so that is passes the duplicate content filters of the Search Engines, this battle doesn’t even exist with offline content.
And even if these “how-to” publications for sale have the content online, there is most likely going to be a premium charge to access the information behind a password protected website. Thus, search engine spiders can’t even read the content that is protected behind lock and key.
Now, I’m not saying that you should copy this offline content word for word and plaguarize it, that would be dead wrong. But you have the root base of professionally written content that stands up to the test of being published in a major national outlet like Home Depot.
I now have 143 ideas for articles and some pretty condensed knowledged contained within this $4.00 “how-to” magazine that will provide web surfers online with a vast amount of energy saving ideas in their house.
In fact, my primary research on energy savings could be isolated to this condensed publication as well and supply my new website I intend to launch with months and month of valuable content. Did I mention this cost only $4.00?
I can set this website up on my WordPress based content management system and all the information I publish on the site becomes searchable by any web surfer. This is where traditional static HTML web pages cannot compete with a database driven platform like WordPress.
So if you are tired of hiring writers that produce mediocre content that is way more expensive than what I just mentioned, head on over to your local neighborhood magazine store stocked with professional, high quality content. Locate magazines or how-to publications on your website’s topic and get to work creating new and valuable content for your website visitors.
Remodel, rephrase, summarize and revise the high quality content and publish it to your website for literally pennies on the dollar.
If you are still hell bent on finding PLR articles and content, there are three places I highly recommend:
1. KeywordAvalanche.com — every month you get 300 keyword optimized articles on 30 different topics, which equals 10 articles each. As a cherry on top, you also get 30 professionally made web templates to accompany the articles and all of the Keyword Research done for you. I am personally in charge of creating the content for the site, so you can be rest assured it’s top notch! However, the above is only the tip of the iceberg for what you receive and is quite a value at $97 a month.
2. ArticleUnderground.com — I personally know the founder, Mike Liebner, and he’s been running a top notch operation since March 2006 when it comes to supplying keyword optimized articles as well. You get a mixed bag of 400 PLR articles per month and a number of Traffic Announcement Blogs to get inbound links to your niche sites. Everyone needs website traffic!
3. Niche-Content-Packages.com — the founder, Stefan Everaet, is a truly genuine and nice guy from Belgium that gives you incredible value for the PLR content he provides. I met Stefan personally at Adsense Immersion in New York in late 2006. His website allows you to purchase various content packages according to your topical preference. You may want to check out his site and see whether the topic of your choice is available. I personally purchased a number of packages from him (one of which was for the topic “coffee”) and was impressed and very pleased with quality of the end product.
Whatever you decide to do, the only way to occupy new keyword phrases on the search engine listings is by creating new content or getting inbound links using the target keyword phrase as the hyperlink back to your site. Today, we covered sources to seek out and create new content.
Success always,

NicheBOT – “Finds exactly what people search for.”

That sounds like an excellent idea.
It’s so obvious I wonder why nobody’s mentioned it before.
I can see I have to go pick up a few of the weight loss magazines out there now!
Awesome and insightful information indeed!
Thank you, and combined with that wordpress
it sounds like pure power!
Have A Great Day

Hello Jim,
I must say you have done what most have not done, not overlook the obvious. Brilliant ideas of ‘getting the experts off-line’ to give you content, useful content at that. Hat’s off to you and thanks for the ideas.

Great article Jim.
And no need to even pay Four bucks for the book. Just use your local library and maybe mix and match several books without plagiarising or else give the author due credit if using excerpts etc.
Thanks Jim,
That is an excellent idea. There are tons of magazines on all sorts of topics. Take a look at Magazine.com. That will get your head thinking of magazines to look at for your niche.
Another thought on getting ideas, is looking at articles on article directories, see what people are looking at. Find ones with lots of views within your niche. Then use the ideas and write your own.
Thanks again,
Thomas John Fisher
Hey Jim
As always i enjoy your relaxed writing style and the review of the three content suppliers is helpful. I used an old kid’s book on stamp collecting to help me with site conent once. Worked out pretty good.

Jim you went and let the cat out of bag with that one bit of information.
Here’s what l do to get fresh content, every sunday morning l go along to our car boot here in the uk l think they call them yard sales in the usa.
My total budget for the morning is £5 in sterling or around 10 dollars .
What l am looking for is any old newspaper, magazine, or booklets that are very old, the condition does not matter, quite often l can pick up a total course on a subject for pennies or dimes, when l get home l have enough new material already researched in niche markets, there is lots more but l will have to put that in a report regards Peter
Jim:
Brilliant article! I’m building handyman sites for local handymen and I needed some PLR material to use on these sites so I did a search and found your article.
It’s been frustrating because finding PLR material in the handyman niche has been nearly impossible. But when I saw that giant image of the Family Handyman magazine I about fell off my chair.
Why didn’t I think of this before? I think as Internet Marketers we sometimes forget about the offline world and its resources. Thanks for the reminder!
