By the time you leave this page, you will learn at least one thing you must do in order to capture the undivided attention of your website’s visitors or risk losing each one in a crowd of yawns. We’ll have a lot more on that later, but first…

In the beginning of this year, I made a promise to you as a NicheBOT subscriber. And that was to help make 2007 your best year ever. And along those lines, this week’s issue strikes at the very heart of that promise.

If you’ve ever read an issue of The Keyword Informer and got some value out of it, today’s issue is like 20 issues packed in one.

Why?

Because THE most important thing on your web page is not just the keywords, but rather the power of how you express your thoughts, explain your product or service as an affiliate or a direct seller of your own products/services.

The way in which you present your web pages will either make or break your visitor’s decision to buy something through you as an affiliate, buy something from you or do any action you may even suggest at the site. And it’s not necessarily just your web pages that affect your visitors, but the email communications you send if you are following up.

Words are what throw people into action and make them whip out credits cards…

It’s the heart of the lead generating and sales cycle of any business, offline or online.

Your online business or brick and mortar store is either taking orders and shipping product, making affiliates sales, or it’s not.

The only other alternative to the above is making clicks from Google Adsense — and that may not be the most solid business model to rely upon.

If your website is not leading someone toward a profitable action the right way and is not the sales mechanism you’d hoped it would be, then this issue will give you the proper understanding of a key ingredient that may be missing. And…

May I so boldly say or claim that this issue of The Keyword Informer may just turn out to be a million dollar marketing lesson for you wrapped up on one single web page that you can print out.

Hard to believe, I know.

Just the other day, I was feeling sick and felt a cold coming on, so I told my wife I was heading over to Jamba Juice in Oceanside, California, to pick up a fresh juice drink they call a Cold Buster.

And the Cold Buster did just that — it kicked my cold in the you know what! So no doubt, I’m feeling a whole lot better as I write this to ya.

However, we are not gathered here today to talk about fresh juice drinks.

Rather, while I was standing in line at Jamba Juice waiting for the cashier to take my order, I was thinking about how important it is to have what I call Marketing Awareness (an awareness of the marketing tactics that are employed not only online, but offline in traditional businesses). In fact, as I was standing in line, this edition of the newsletter began to write itself once again (just like The Keyword Informer Issue 9).

So my drink order gets processed and as I sit there and await my drink, all these memories came flooding into my mind of where I was at in the early part of 2005 (still working a 9 to 5 job still struggling as an online entrepreneur).

NicheBOT was introduced in May 2004, so it’s not like I didn’t have an online property. It’s just that my focus and the things I was paying attention to really sucked at the time! (Big time!)

I then began thinking of how important and pivotal the decisions I made back in November 2006 when positioning and launching the Premium version NicheBOT as a paid model.

Why?

The Keyword Informer

Issue 9

Copyright 2007 Jim Morris and FTEI

===============================

It’s been a while since our last regular newsletter as most of the recent communications have been private subscriber only specials. And it just isn’t a subscriber only special if it’s posted out in the public blog that anyone can see. And that is ONE of the really major benefits of being subscribed to The Keyword Informer.

This will continue the recent topic area we’ve been dwelling, which is all about “backlinks” as well as our recent introduction of resident expert on affiliate marketing and backlinks, Mr. James Martell.

And so why have I been preaching about backlinks, backlinks and more backlinks for over the past 3 years now?

Simple. Backlinks are those hyperlinks that point back to your own site or a target site you are building out. But more importantly, a backlink is a hyperlink that should utilize one of the keyword phrases in your list and be located on a website that you do not control, otherwise, outside your network of sites you control.

(Of course, for those who just recently joined us — it will seem to be only a recent thing I have been stressing, but I can assure I have been echoing this advice for quite some time… and I’m not about to quit!)

You see, when that hyperlink has one of your keyword phrases in it, the Search Engine robots pass right through the hyperlink, read it and that will count or get you some credit in the Search Engines Results to rank for that keyword. (Most often — innocent newbies include their company name in the hyperlink rather than their keyword phrase. But in all likelihood, an innocent newbie probably also doesn’t understand the power of keyword research and using those keywords in the hyperlinks or they wouldn’t make this mistake.)

Backlinks are, quite frankly, 50 times MORE important than how many times you repeat your keyword phrase on a web page or how many different ways you tweak your page. In fact, you could have a BLANK web page with one word of text on it, acquire a bunch of backlinks for a certain keyword phrase and eventually that one word webpage can rank for whatever keyword phrase you use in your backlinks (get enough backlinks for a particular keyword, that is).
