Keyword Research and SEO Explained for the Rest of Us
I need your vote and this is truly important.
See — today, earlier in the afternoon, a sudden change
took place over at NicheBOT.com and there was a cry out
by some users about the change. So I need your input.
Here’s what happened.
Earlier this month, I wrote an article entitled “Are we so blinded by the SEO of blogs that we forget the basics” and this will pick up where that left off.
As I was saying in the earlier article, most people get SO blinded by the fact that blogs are search engine optimized that they quite often forget the most important, basic and crucial component before making a blog post.
As any type of communication that will be posted publicly, one must plan first what the true intent and purpose of the blog post truly is. What is the theme of it? Most blog posts don’t even have a finished intent at the end with a call to action or any type of take away and this is where most people are leaving money and subscribers on the table. And I think that everyone should uncover that purpose (of the blog post) prior to even thinking about creating one.
Now, unless you are one of the MySpace generation and are just maintaining a blog for your friends to read and comment, and your social life, that’s all fine and dandy. But if you are attempting to harness the true power of a blog, I’m sure you are intending to receive traffic from your blog through the search engines, and hopefully convert that traffic into something of a monetization value, i.e., money.
And towards the end of this post, I’ll give you a link to view the video that I prepared specially for Sherman Hu’s Private Membership site over at WordPress Tutorials that gives you the one crucial component you must make sure to do before you make any blog post. Otherwise, all your efforts are for naught.
A little earlier this year, I indicated to all my TNMD (Total Niche Market Domination) Students that there would be some additional content updates to the original PDF/Multimedia course released late 2005.
This will be one in a series of updates that will supplement the course.
If you have not taken the course, you can inquire more about the details so you can improve your current search engine optimization situation at your website.
As most brand new websites that need to get established, everyone starts out with a PageRank 0 and many people think they’ve got no chance at getting any link exchanges because of that. I get these remarks all the time… “Why would anyone want to exchange a link with my PR0 site?” NicheBOT, too, had to start out as a PageRank 0 with absolutely zero link partners at first. And it overcame that hurdle.
I think one of the most important things overlooked by most online business owners is giving value to the visitor, and in fact, enlightening other online business owners to want to reciprocate with a link exchange.
In fact, around the time that NicheBOT initiated it’s own reciprocal linking campaign back in June 2004, there was rumor going around that reciprocal link exchanges were losing value and effectiveness. And now that I am here 2 years later, having acquired over 500+ link partners, and created some unstoppable traffic, I can tell you that the cycle of continual myths about link exchanges not working is as regular as me drinking my favorite coffee drink in the morning. And that’s pretty regular. ;o)
So with this in mind, it’s sometimes incredibly difficult for the boostrap entrepreneur to clearly make a decision and stick to it with a solid commitment, yet I decided to go against grain, and the rumors and all the excess hoop-lah about reciprocal linking and used NicheBOT as the test bed.
There’s no doubt that people, entrepreneurs, teenagers and even corporations are stepping up and joining the growing blog craze over the last couple of years.
Sure, some not so serious bloggers, like MySpacers, just blog to blog and add friends to their list. Basically, they are interested in building up social networks.
Yet, others are truly after gaining the essence of the Search Engine Optimization – SEO – powers of a blog and realizing the potential of gaining traffic from just adding content to their site through a blog post.
However, most individuals, business owners, entrepreneurs are blindly blogging without realizing that they still have to do the initial planning to make the built-in SEO components of the blog.
Filling your blog with content is great, but are you focusing your efforts in the planning stages of each blog post you write? What is the strategy you take before you post?
Are you just going about getting an idea — or taking an update about your website and then blindly blogging about it without attempting to target a specific spot on the net?
